I am seeking a PhD student on one of several possible projects
that involve developing algorithms. These projects include topics in
string editing using extended models, sequence alignment
with constraints, similarity of string objects in high dimensions,
approximate pattern matching.

Application deadlines are:

Fall enrollment Apply by April 1
Spring enrollment Apply by December 1

Applicants for department aid must submit their applications earlier:

Fall enrollment with aid Apply by February 1
Spring enrollment with aid Apply by October 15

The Department of Computer Science is able to fund a small number of graduate students at any
time. In addition, the department awards a small number of graduate assistantships specifically
designated for Ph.D. students involved in interdisciplinary areas.
