Our work focuses on understanding the general nature of cognition, regardless of whether it is found in humans, animals or robots. Our unique approach is to focus on the role that morphology and evolution plays in cognition: how does evolution (either artificial or biological) shape the bodies and brains of agents such that they come to demonstrate increasingly intelligent behavior? Addresssing these questions has taken us into the fields of biology, psychology, engineering and computer science. For an overview of some of our past work, select one of the movies below, a link to the paper, or browse our other pages. |
