KAIS Journal Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for New Associate Editors

1. Q: How to distinguish new submissions and revised submissions, as Associate Editors don't need to put as much effort to find new reviewers for revised submissions?

   A: Editorial Manager (the KAIS on-line submission system) already distinguishes revised submissions by adding a suffix 'R#', such as #KAIS-1748R1 and #KAIS-1626R3, for revised paper submissions. R1 indicates the first revision and R3 is the third revision.

2. Q: How to remind late reviewers?

   A: Edward Sarmiento (Edward.Sarmiento AT springer.com) manually sends the necessary reminders to reviewers (and also Associate Editors). This is done on a weekly basis (every Friday).

   The reminders Edward usually sends are the following:

   • For Reviewers: (a) Reviewer Invited & No Response Report - for reviewers who have not yet accepted the invitation; and (b) Reviewer Reminder Report - for late reviews.
   • For Editors: (a) New Assignment Report - for editors who have not yet invited reviewers, and (b) Required Reviews Complete Report - for editors who have not yet made their recommendation.
