Purpose
The File Alias page enables you to define pointers from requested file names to file names on your machine. For example, suppose you are developing a set of web pages, and you want a quick way to access them without having to type long URLs.

Location of panel in Administration Tool:
Log In --> Service name --> Manage --> Setup  
              |_ File Aliases
Fields
Alias Pathname
The path name of the requested file or directory.
 
Full Pathname
The actual path name for the files you are using. Note that the files are relative to the document root (which is specified in the site setup screen) unless they are specified as absolute paths. For example, tmp would refer to doc_root/tmp, while /tmp would refer to /tmp.  

Buttons
Add
Adds a new alias path name to your alias list .
 
Modify
Selects a field and allows you to modify the selected alias path name.
 
Remove
Removes the selected alias from the alias list.
 
Save
Writes your changes to the Java Web Server(TM) and changes the settings.
 
Revert
Takes you back to the previously saved settings for all fields in the screen. Use this button to undo changes you have not yet saved.

Note: If you Add, Modify, or Remove an alias path name, you must Save before the changes take affect.
