Purpose
The Log Outputs panel enables you to monitor the information being collected about the internal operations of the Java Web Server and client requests for its services.

To indicate which of the available types of information you want to collect, use the Log Files panel of the Administration Tool. The Log Files online help document describes that panel as well as the log types and their location.

To sort and display the collected data for easier analysis, use the Log Statistics panel of the Administration Tool. The Log Statistics online help document describes that panel and how to use it.

Fields
Log File
Use the log files field to select the log output you want to view. Each service (for instance, Web Service) has its own set of the following log files:

For a description of the Administration Tool panels where the properties of these logs can be set, see Log Files.

View Last
Use the View Last field to specify how much of the log contents you want to see. You can choose to display up to the last 5 KBytes of data. The default setting is the last 1 KByte of data.

Snapshot
The Snapshot field is a toggle that enables you to take a snapshot of the contents of the log you have chosen to view.

Update Interval
The Update Interval field enables you to specify how often the Log Output screen will update the content of the log you have chosen to view. You can choose to update the log view every 1-15 seconds. The default is 5 seconds.

Next Update
The Next Update field is a clock that graphically shows how often your log view is being dynamically updated. This clock only runs if the Snapshot field is not selected; if you have selected the Snapshot field, your log view will only be updated the next time you take a snapshot.

Word Wrap
The Word Wrap field is a toggle that enables you to select how you want your log entries to be displayed.

NOTE: Enlarging the Java Web Server(TM) window also enlarges the log output field.
